Boy Scout Recordings is the brand new label from maverick A&R impresario Tim Love Lee.

In this day and age it’s rare to see anyone launching a new record label but with years of rigorous scouting under his belt Tim Love Lee is more than up to the challenge – plus he looks great in shorts.

In 2001 Tim Love Lee turned his back on the fickle trends and drunken squalor of Shoreditch and followed his heart to Brooklyn, where the civilising effects of a good woman and long country walks lead him to a new appreciation of music that touches the heart and head as much as it touches the tummy and moves the feet.

Thrifty, Brave & Clean is the labels motto and the name of their first label campilation and represents a real return to the roots of what an indie label should be about – talented musicians creating exciting music which gains a wider audience against all the odds through the steely determination of a rugged and uniformed label staff. Wow.

Somewhere in the backwoods of upstate New York, the dazed fall out of dance music and the starry eyed and youthful anti folkists set up camp together and determined to craft great music from the meagre tools available to them.
